Ever have a sales day like this?

Just imagine…you have a beautiful storefront in the heart of downtown.

Everyone knows you.  Everyone buys you from you. You’ve earned yourself a good reputation.

Even the traffic cop stops by in the morning to share a cup of joe with you. After all-everyone knows you’ve got the best coffee around.

This a.m.  Mrs. van Tresser breezes through the door. She’s director of the historical society. The two of you  chit chat for a few.  You run into the back to retrieve the satin drapes that came in for her. She inspects them approvingly,  thanks you–and writes out a check for $800.

Right before lunch caterer Victor Zambelli  ambles in. “Great timing, Vic,” you say.  “It came in 40 minutes ago.”

You bring out a crate of imported Italian oils and vinegars. He kisses his fingers to show his pleasure…and pulls out a credit card.  An easy $150.

“Did you already go through the bottles you ordered last week?”  You ask teasingly. “One of the oils was rancid,” Vic says.  They sent out a whole new order.”

That’s why you love your job.  People come in and pick up the goods they order through you.  Yet you never have to deal with returns, refunds, or customer complaints.

Ahhhh…life is good.
