One of the best non-fiction books I’ve read in the past 5 years is Free Agent Nation.

The author, Daniel Pink, is an astute observer of economic trends as they pertain to the work world.

The book was published about a decade ago-and predicted that more and more people would be moving into self employment.

He was right. And the trend continues on.

One of the most affirming things I took away from this book is that I’m not the only person fed up with nasty office politics, tedious commutes, and feeling too tired after work to pursue my own interests.

More and more people are walking in that direction.

So it’s no coincidence then so many work-at-home sites have sprung up.

One of the most important points Pink makes-is that free agents need a solid network-a way to create continual income.

After all, when you work for yourself-there’s no longer the security blanket that comes with an employer and guaranteed salary.
